An alternative to the X-cross...
I have made myself a bondagepost, mostly because it is a lot easier to hide under the bed, compared to an X-cross.
Top of the post / mounting:

Here you see how I mount the top of the post, to my previously installed ring
in the ceiling.
1/ show the mentioned ring, which I've screwed into the 'beam' in the ceiling,
where - once upon a time - there supposedly was a wall.
2/ here you see the top of the post, when mounted over the ring, and with the
hook inside the hole. This hook is threaded (6mm) and this allows for the
mounting with a wing nut.
3/ Show the washer, as well as an underlying piece of metal, around the threaded
end of the hook.
4/ and finally, with the wing nut mounted onto the threading on the hook.
Having the top of the post mounted in this way, it is 'locked into place', and will not move, until the wing nut is unscrewed (or the ring is ripped out of place).
Top of the post, and shackles/keys:
At the other side of the post, I've attached a piece of wood, just under the
beam, for two reasons:
1/to give the post a wider support, and
2/to stabilize the post 'sideways', when having tightened the wing nut.
Apart from this, I've screwed a ring to the top of the post, in order to be able to attach i.e. my wrist cuffs, as well as an eyelet, to hold my keys.
Wrist cuffs and keys:
A little further down the post (working our way through it from the top down),
I have my wrist cuffs, and if you look carefully, you'll see, that the cuff
being at the left hand side of the picture is unlocked, whereas the other cuff
is locked.
Locking my cuffs this way makes it absolutely imposible to escape i.e. by
forcing the padlock through the hole in the leather, as the chain will
effectively hold the leather in place.
Next to the cuffs, you see my keys, at the end of the black shoelace connecting
them to the eyelet above.
D-ring belt:
A little further down, I've bound my D-ring belt to the post. When tightening the belt around my waist, I'm kept firmly in place.
Toy-mount:
Here you see the mount for my vacuum and vibration toy, which is mounted onto
two carriage bolts with two wing nuts.

At the bottom:
For the bottom end, I've chosen a somewhat alternative solution, in order to
be able to hold the post in a stable manner, without having to make holes in my
carpets.
As you'll see from the photos above, the bottom end of the post is fitted into a
frame on the plate, to which I've also screwed my shoes.
The obvious trick is, that when I'm standing on this plate, with the shoes laced
around my feet, I'll be unable to move the post, and/or the plate in any
direction, and thus I'll be captured in a nice 'escape-proof' manner.

At image 1/ I guess that you might be able to see two of the screws securing
the shoes, on the plate, and
at image 2/ I've marked the location of the screws, where they are placed,
through the bottom of the shoe.
