Everyone, or at least almost everyone knows the
hangman's rope.
At least they've seen it, when John Wayne was just about to...
Now, as mentioned I'm fond of using my masochists more than once, and that's why this one is not going to be put around anybody's neck in a bondage context. It would be a transgression to the 4th commandment anyway.
The hangman's rope is - however - a good knot, as long as you need a stable grip around something apart from body parts, as it does not let go, once tied right, and anyhow it's easy to loosen.
1/ Make an 'S' on the rope, having the longer end to the left.
2/ Pull the short end under bow, then over the bow; and 'itself'.
3/ Make 6 more turns around it all. ( Rather tight ).
4/ Put the short end through the loop.
Grab the loop to the right with your right hand, and the 'turns' with your left
hand.
Pull the loop in order to tighten the hangman's rope.
I've shown the knot in an 'open' way to let you see what happens, but you'll
need to make the 'rounds' rather tight, in order to make it work properly !
