En timer-candleholder...
Well, I finally got myself a genuine 'timercandleholder'....
It's build from a candleholder, which came witk a curved metal-mirror, which
slided downwards, behind the flame of the candle, a bathroom floor tile, 4
'feet' which I stripped from some sort of radio (as far as I remember, before
throwing out the radio, which was 'dead', a clothespin, with a 'rubber-grip',
and a piece of chain...

 |
| Here you see the candleholder, from the front
side, and from the back. The 'cross-pin' came with the candleholder, and
used to hold the 'mirror', which slid downwards behind the flame of the
candle. I've glued the candleholder to a bathromm-floor-tile, in order to
give it a good weight, and supplied the whole thing with 4 'feet', with
rubber underneath. |

 |
| Here you can see the 4 'feet' from the bottom-side'... |
-and here I've tied a sewing line to the cross-pin, and
pulled it across the candle, in such a way, that when the candle wax melts
away, the sewing line will get to touch the flame, thus burning through,
upon which the key (which is at the other end of the sewing line - through
a hook in the ceiling) will drop to the floor, where I can get at it, with
my handcuffed hands. |
 |
 |
| Next I lit the candle, which is burning with approximately
3/4" per hour, meaning that tied up like this, the keys will be
released within app. ½ hour. |
-an do NOT wind the sewing line so far around the candle,
that it will simply 'dart' through the flame, without getting burned
through, when the candle wax melts away, thus you'll not get the desired
'key release' effect..! |
Well, it's almost 'self-explanatory' isn't it ?
